Windows Tutorial How to Create Windows XP Bootable USB

As shown in previous post How to Create Windows 7 Bootable USB but the problem is Windows7-USB-DVD-tool is not compatible to Windows XP. Microsoft has not made a USB install tool for XP similar to the Windows 7 USB install tool. So I created this tutorial for those who asking me on how to make Windows XP Bootable USB. There are many software can you use to create a bootable USB, But this one tried and tested by me!!






Requirements to make a Windows Bootable USB:

1. A Copy of any Microsoft Windows XP Disk Image ISO File. if you dont know how to create an ISO image check this How to Create an ISO Image from CD/DVD
2. USB Flash Drive 1 Gigabyte or Higher.
3. Create bootable USB drives using Rufus v1.4.3

Step by Step Tutorial on How to Create Bootable USB:

1. Insert you USB Drive to your Computer USB port.
2. Download and Run Rufus v1.4.3 
   
3. On Rufus 1. Select your USB Device. 2. Create a bootable disk using: "ISO Image" see the picture below: 
   
4. On the right side of "ISO Image" click Browse and navigate to Windows ISO Image folder.
   
5. Select Windows ISO Image then click "Open"
   
6. Click "Start"
   
7. Another Window will popup like this "WARNING: ALL DATA ON DEVICE WILL BE DESTROYED" just click "Ok"
   
8. It will begin to extract an ISO Image to your USB Device. It will takes several minutes, an Hour or 2 depend on your Computer speed.
   
9. Just wait until it finish, See the image below. then click "Close"
   
10. Unplug your USB Device. Congratulation you have now a bootable USB and ready to use to format your PC. If you dont know how to format your Computer? check this How to Format a Computer to Windows XP Step by Step

To conduct a hard reset, or factory reset, Next to that, there are a number of process to try:

1) From the home screen, press Menu - Backup and reset - Factory data reset - Reset mobile phone. It might call you for a password. Next to that, select Erase everything

If the mobile phone is completely unresponsive, even Next to that, a reboot, Next to that, try the following process.

2) When the mobile phone is turned off, press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down keys together. Next to that, when holding these, press and release the Power key (keep holding the volume keys). The mobile phone should be turned on and a menu will be displayed. Press the Volume down key to navigate to the Recovery option. Press the Volume Up to select (if that doesnt function, use the Power key to select). A yellow triangle and an Android logo will be displayed. Press the Volume Down and Volume Up key together and a recovery menu should be displayed. Use the Volume keys to move to the Wipe data/Factory reset option and Next to that, press Power to select. Again, use the Volume Down key to select Yes and press the Power key again to select.

3) When the mobile phone is turned off, press and hold the Volume Down key. Next to that, when holding, press and release the Power key. A menu should be displayed. Use the Volume down key to go to Clear Storage. Use the Power key to select the option. Next to that, when call you to confirm, press Volume Up for Yes.

4) When the mobile phone is off, press and hold down Volume Up + Home + Power keys simultaneously. Next to that, release the keys when you see the Logo. Use the Volume Down key to go down and the Home or Power key to select. Select the Wipe data/Factory reset option. Next to that, Select Yes to erase all user data. Next to that, select to reboot the mobile phone.

5) A concluding process is to enter the code into your mobile phones dialer: *2767*3855# This process will not provide you an option to reverse the process, so be absolutely cautious! This process will only function if you can boot into your mobile phone.
